The main dining room of Galatoire's

Galatoire’s Restaurant was founded in 1905 by Jean Galatoire. Originally from the French town of Pardies, Galatoire opened his restaurant at 209 Bourbon Street to expose the city of New Orleans to classic French family dishes similar to the ones he enjoyed in France. The Galatoire family has continued to operate the restaurant. It enjoys a reputation as an unchanging bastion of tradition, where regular patrons have their own waiters and accounts.

The museum has an exhibit for Galatoire's, which includes an appliquéd and embroidered curtain fragment once covered the upper windows in the street front of Galatoire’s, a place setting, a collection of menus from various points in Galatoire's past, and a painting of the inside tables and chairs by artist Rise Delmar Oschner.
